Kelley Blue Book (KBB) looked at 2015 cars that have starting prices under $20,000 and ranked ten “tech-savviest” cars.
“We are coming to a point in the auto world where the coolest tech is no longer limited to the people who have the most money,” declared Micah Muzio, managing editor of video for Kelley Blue Book.
The ten “tech-savviest” cars are:
1. Mazda MAZDA3 – The car has many multimedia options and you can get an infotainment controller in the center console. Base price: $16,945-$26,595.
2. Honda Fit – The car has the blind-spot camera and backup camera. It has a great fuel economy, and has responsive handling. Base price: $15,650-$20,925.
3. Honda Civic – Much of the technology in the Civic comes standard, including a rearview camera and a customizable LCD screen. Base price: $18,290-$29,390.
4. Chevrolet Trax – The car has 4G LTE wi-fi to turn the car into a hotspot, which is rare for a car of its price, plus a rearview camera and the Chevy MyLInk infotainment system. Base price: $20,120-$26,530.
5. Jeep Renegade – This SUV has a 7-inch driver info system, rear park assist, and the Uconnect system, which makes music, navigation, etc. easier to do. Base price: $17,995-$26,795.
6. Nissan Versa Note – Backing out of a parking space becomes quite a bit easier with the Versa Note’s Around View Monitor, and it has hands-free texting. Base price: $14,180-$17,960.
7. Subaru Impreza – It offers a variety of multimedia systems, butmost of the other tech for the Impreza are safety related, such as its rearview camera, EyeSight driver assist with lane departure warning, and pre-collision braking. Base price: $18,195-$23,295.
8. Kia Forte – On the exterior, you can get LED accent lights and taillights, while on the interior you can get the UVO connectivity system for phone, music, and navigation, and even a heated steering wheel. Base price: $15,890-$21,890.
9. Toyota Corolla – The car has a system called Entune that has a bunch of its own moblie apps and makes it easy to access useful apps like OpenTable and Pandora. Base price: $16,950-$22,955.
10. Dodge Dart – With the Dodge Uconnect system, you can use simple voice commands to make a call, play music, navigate, and control other aspects of the car. Base price: $16,485-$23,095.
